I hope to here officially end my unofficial hiatus, which was more a Missing In Action than a hiatus, really. I've spent the last few days sucking up any and all time at my family home with my family. I'm bummed I spent all 2 weeks ('cept 2 days) my uncle was here house-sitting, but at least I got a few final nights in with my brother (we're both social late in the evening) before we shipped him back off to England yesterday. I've been sitting here in the living room ecstatically listening to all the human movement in the house and feeling gleeful every time a door opens to reveal someone walking in from the kitchen or the mudroom.

I've scrubbed myself clean (not just "I'm going to take a shower" clean but "I'm going on a date tonight" clean despite a lack of dates) and am feeling closer to the old winter-and-holidays-loving Kiwi than I haven't felt since I started house-sitting, really. It's a huge relief. I hated feeling that down that often!

Tonight I'm off to volunteer at my congregation's coffee house with my mother; it looks as though it'll be a sold-out show, so a big raffle and lots of clean up after intermission.

But! I managed to get my first hoggywartyxmas story in! (It's absolutely dreadful that I haven't felt up to doing any fandom reading; guilt guilt guilt is a monster in my gut.) I started with the story I was gifted because I certainly wanted to make sure I got a comment up for that.

Always is a Kittyhawk (Rolanda/Minerva) fic that is PG and around 1.3k words of cute, dorky, long-term-relationship interactions between two of my favourite characters. I love the Rolanda I've been given here! I won't give away just what makes it dorky (in the best sense!), but it made me smile. Apparently Rolanda directed this fic herself, so I have her to thank as well. Thank you, Mystery Author and Rolanda! I am thrilled with my gift. :D

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Perhaps house-sitting for so long during the holidays isn't for you? Too much alone time when you're craving personal contact can definitely prey on your emotions in a bad way.

Thank you! No, it's certainly not for me, not with no real breaks in-between. Unfortunately, despite knowing that from the get-go, I needed the money! I do like pet-sitting and house-sitting quite a lot--and I'm quite good at it, so far as someone can be good at caring for pets and a house--but my preference is definitely for doing less of it so I can have breaks for time at my personal and family homes. Hopefully next year come the holidays I'll be able to be more choosy with how I spend my holiday time!

Glad you're home and feeling chipper, dear! There's a lot of hoggywartyxmas goodness waiting for you when you have time to kick back and relax.

Yay Kittyhawk!

Thank you; I am too! (Well, now I'm at the coffeehouse waiting for what will be a very hectic intermission. :P) I scrolled through the Hoggywarty stories and must say I'm all a-jitter with excitement! I'm going to get to it right now. :D

Love the Kittyhawk icon. (:

So good to hear that you are done with house-sitting for a while and back with your family ♥ ! To be all on ones own when at the same time there is something special going on not too far away must have been so hard...
I hope the coffee house will be fun along with the work!
And we certainly missed your enthusiastic comments at hoggywarty until now :-))

Good to read that you are feeling more like yourself, finally. It's a new calendar year, so might as well start it feeling better.

Now, go and read some Hoggy - plenty of good stuff there. I'm as guilty as anybody for not commenting enough (I need to be in a certain mood, which, sadly, I'm not) but I have read alsmost everything and it's a great fest (especially if one is tolerant to mmss - and I think you are more agreeable to that than me).

Take care! xx ♥
