Huzzah! I made it through!

The day started out rocky with absolutely no productivity whatsoever, unless going to Subways in jammies and eating half a sub may be considered productive.

In the end, though, by 7.55am (the end of my 'today' it seems), I have a mark of 88%--A+ in England and B+ in America. However, since I finished my story, I am going to found that up to an A and say that I truly got an A today!

I managed to help save my grandmother from being stranded with her overheated car, get some good cleaning done, do a good deed for the household, read, do some things for my own sanity, help out my crup-pup-pug (cleaning gums, brushing teeth, cleaning wrinkles and cuddling) and thoroughly enjoy writing my story.

I don't know what turned in my head this time, but it turned more than ever before and I stopped thinking about other people altogether as I wrote. I wrote a story completely for me and I enjoyed every moment. Now that it's done I'm not sure it will hold up and for the moment I don't care; that may change tomorrow when I read through it, see if any of my last-minute betas are on and send it in. But for now it's all YAY!

And now, since it's 8am on the first of October and I stayed up to greet the new month, I'm going to pass out for a few hours so I can get some more stuff (and some more nothing) done tomorrow.

Sweet dreams! ♥

*hat-pat* and *hug* - how nice to read you had fun writing and feel accomplished otherwise as well :-)

- the only thing I can't comprehend is how one is able to work through the whole night.... but, well, "chacun à son goût" as the French say ;-))

I hope your "tomorrow" will turn out as bright - it is a wonderful day over here!

Thank you! I'm so pleased to have enjoyed writing, too. (: I'm afraid I'm over-practised at working through whole nights...it tends to be what works best for me. Why, I'm close to working my way all the way through my inbox and so of course it is now 2am. If I wanted to then finish the next task on my to-do list it would surely be morning; instead I will put myself to sleep this time around. (: But if it were story-writing I would remain awake!

That sounds more like an A++ day, Kiwi. Go you! ♥

Awwr, thank you! I see you are a kind marker. (;

Glad things turned around! I pretty much write everything for me. I figure if I don't like it nobody else will either.

But I could be wrong.

I tend to write my fest-exchange fic for others...but since this was just a prompt fest, I thought I'd put in what the prompt ask for and otherwise just write it for my own enjoyment! (Not that I don't enjoy writing other stories I've written, too. (: )

At least now, without deadlines dangling over your head, you can go to Orlando with a clear conscience.
I hope your "today" (whenever that starts for you) is a great one!
PS...Give Lash and Zee a hug for me.

It was nice to be in Orlando and have no (immediate) writing to be working on. (: Instead I got to lounge around reading fic again--what a thrill!

Yay for having written (always the most enjoyable stage of writing, for me) and for enjoying the process!

Now we can lean back and enjoy the finished product. Yes, we will, you can't stop us.

I'm good with the Writing bit and the It Has Been Written time, but the Must Start Writing and It Has Been Posted (especially of the Before Comments category) tend to be torturous for me. But once I got started on this one I got into it more than many others and I'm not quite so nervous about it being posted, so *fingers crossed* hopefully that will continue! (Although I haven't been checking back, so I haven't a clue if it's already been posted!)

I certainly hope you enjoy the finished product. (: But I'm glad that at least I do! I'm pleased to be selfish for the moment. (;

Wow! I'm impressed at how much you accomplished. I'd consider it a productive day if I got a fic finished, let alone all the rest of it.

(PS -- If 88 is an A+ in England, what is, say, a 96? Something like my icon?)
Kiwi Crocuscranky__crocus on October 14th, 2011 06:14 am (UTC)
I have to wonder how much of that list I would have accomplished if I hadn't had a fic due! Although this day-by-day To Do List thing seems to be working for me. (: Today I joined up with the two closest libraries nearby, which was rather productive. (And, erm, still ended up buying five books. But for $1.50 total? How was I supposed to summon the willpower to avoid falling for that?)

Your icon does about sum up a 96 in England. I personally never saw the grade. I once got a 94 on a chemistry exam and my friend danced around the room for me (I was still peeved because it was a multiple choice and I had got one wrong, one that was simple and I goofed up in a rather ridiculous way). But when I got an 82 for the class (including the exam)--and thus an A+--*I* did a dance and nearly cried. 90s were mythical grades. (I'm hard-pressed, now, to remember my high school days during which a 96 would have produced a sigh, a shake of the head and inevitably a walk up to the teacher's desk to inquire what I could do to improve my work/grade for next time. Then, so did a 98. :X)

And now I have just realised that, for the moment, I am well away from actual school grades! *Does another dance.* Who cares if I don't get an A on my day, save myself? It only means I got enough sleep! :D

Sounds like a lovely, full and *happy* day - hooray!!

P.S. Loved your hogwarts_houses story!! I'll leave a proper comment, soon, but I just wanted to say 'attagirl' and that I look forward to the next one! XXOO

It was absolutely a lovely, full and happy day! :D

Awwr, thank you for your comment about my hogwarts_houses story! I saw that you commented on therealsnape's rec and I went all squishy inside! ♥ Don't worry about leaving a proper comment--this one and the other does the job very well! (: Thank you for the 'attagirl'--although I'm afraid the next one should be mighty different! :Þ

Did you know it was mine as you were reading it?
albalark: Brain Failurealbalark on October 14th, 2011 02:14 pm (UTC)
Sadly, no. :-( I am horrible at guessing who the author of a fic is. I think I know the tells, and am absolutely certain when I read it - "Ah, Kelly wrote that," I'll say to my self, or, "This has *got* to be Tetley's!" And then when the reveals come, 99.9% of the time I'm wrong. So I've given up trying and just read. ::g::

It's funny - I can guess an artist from his/her style (often even when they are trying to disguise it) pretty consistently. I know that every writer has a style that is in its way, just a recognizable, but I seem to be blind to it somehow. Go figure.
Kiwi Crocuscranky__crocus on October 16th, 2011 06:36 pm (UTC)
I'm relieved, actually! I was sure everyone would know who I was as soon as they read the header--I thought therealsnape must have known immediately, so I was rather embarrassed. I don't tend to try my hand at guessing, either, so don't worry! I certainly have just as good a time without the guessing. (:

I'm not good with the tells of many writers or recognising styles, especially since it's easy for different styles to emerge with different characters. Art I tend to do better with.

I'm torn between wanting to change up my style so no one will recognise me and wanting to stick with my style because I'm beginning to like it. Then other times I miss the descriptions and explanations I would put into much older fic; I leave much more to the reader, now, and trust them to have an imagination rather than using mine. (:
