Three LJ annoyances of the day:
And regarding a previous LJ annoyance for many people: are those of you who weren't getting notifications now getting them?
Because I wanted to mention this a while ago but kept forgetting: I ran a test to see if I am getting all notifications (having LJ send notifications to my LJ inbox) and found that I am and have been consistently. I use GMail - I think GMail does not have the problem some other email clients are. Perhaps if you are entirely fed up with not getting notifications, you should sign up for a GMail account, even if you only use it for a while?
I *think* it's free and easy to sign up these days - it wasn't when I first picked one up when GMail started; I had to get an invite. If invites are still required, I think I have a good number of them and would be willing to hand them out. Beyond receiving LJ notifications, GMail is generally a great client IMHO - it's incredibly user-friendly, searchable and customisable. It can also have email sent in from other clients if you provide the address and password, I think - and I believe it can reply from there too if you don't want to give away your new email address (although I'm not positive if I've got that right; I never used the feature). And it has very fun backgrounds. :Þ That is my spiel complete!
In conclusion: yay on you, GMail, and boo hiss boo for the day and money-making schemes, Livejournal!

- 1) Whole site being down when I wanted to post a yayful magpie post before my nap. However, you are a popular website, websites have their problems and you are generally consistent, so I forgive you.
- 2) You have (hopefully temporarily) eaten some of my icons. Normally I would go with the forgiveness of #1, but you're messing with my pretties here and I miss them, so forgiveness will be tough...
- 3) You have to get a paid account for a community if you want to be notified when people comment in journal entries, which means having to 'track' each one separately. Now I know you have to make money, LJ, but for me this is pushing it. I already have a paid account and paid icons and it's all renewed every year. I really don't want to have to pay membership for a community just to have easy access to comment notification! Growls.
