Thank you, NaNo 2010! Writing 10,000 words for you today was fun! NaNo WriMo, see you again next year!

Now I get to eat chocolate.

I also just got very excited about a seasonal icon group. And about the video of people in viking hats congratulating me on finishing NaNo. After I finished screaming because my computer had just mooed at me.

I have been spending my time in the living room with the oven fan light on as the only main light, and then the Festivus Tree lit up. It's beautiful and peaceful.

You are a winner even without NaNo! But congratulations; it's an impressive achievement.

(10K in a day! Amazing. I once did about 9K in one day, but I was wiped out afterward.)

*Blushes.* Thank you! I think next year, when I don't have a dissertation and course work to wrestle with, I'll shoot for 75,000 words. It seems unfair for me to stick to 50k when I've known since I was 15 I can write 10k in a day. Heck, maybe I should shoot for 100,000...

When I'm on top of my game, 10k should take me 5 hours or so...if I've done all my research and contemplation previously (the latter usually occurs in my sleep, the former usually when I'm supposed to be doing something else). Although then I tend to add breaks.

Congrats for 9k in a day! Most people aren't ridiculous like me, and do better with writing less quantity-wise with better quality. Someday I'll learn to do that, somehow!

I'm not sure I said "you shouldn't" .... I just thought something along the line of "OMG how can she possibly do this AND do her school work in her third year?"

Oh, but everyone's said that about every year, and every year I've done it! It's not very tricky for me. In high school I used to come home and write a story pretty much every day, whether I had to or not. It's the only thing that's sure-fire to keep me sane. So it always feels a bit icky when someone thinks it's something I should 'give a miss' for other things - it's like saying, 'no, prioritise something over your mental health and sanity!' Which of course isn't what's being stated, but that's what it feels like, so it's yucky. A little faith for someone who always seems to get stuff done in the end!
