[+] I had a beautiful weekend with ddagent and will hopefully post about it in detail soon.

[+] Da's Netbook came this afternoon. I am in love. It also came with a long-sleeved Circle of Friends shirt signed by my Coffee House loves. I was so filled with love and cherishing.

[+] My room is in the first stages of being cleaned.

[+] I read through lots of fic and there will be a rec post some time soon. I'm collecting for it, from the depths of my lj memories (now organised!).

[+] I hung out in Sam's webcast for hours today watching her make cupcakes and fun things out of clay. I had the idea to make charm 'bracelets' for our ukuleles. I see this idea becoming very popular. 5 charms have been made thus far - rainbow frosted cupcake for Sam (rainbow frosting my idea), coffee mug and pencil for her friend, sparkly white star with kiwis and a raddish for me. She also made a big black and rainbow cupcake that I will get from her some day when I actually visit the West Coast and see her.

[+] The Uni emailed me today and told me that my wallet had been given in. So I'll have new cards, but I get my wallet back, yay. :)

[+] Tomorrow I intend to go to Alice in Wonderland with Eve from Women's Campaign after she's done giving in her dissertation. I am excited for femmeslash subtext, thanks to kellychambliss. I intended to go on campus tomorrow first for my wallet and marked assignment. Signing my loan cheques too. Will figure out how I want to work the Bus Thing.

[+] Spring break is really here and I don't even care that things are super awkward with Sass. (Our words today... K: [about Sass' lunch] Looks nummy. Sass: [miss-hearing] [nervous laughter] Hmm, well, really good afternoon. K: ...I said 'looks nummy.' Followed by brief "good night"s 8 hours later.) FANFICTION!

[+] Tomorrow I hope to spend time in Global Cafe writing on the Netbook. Tea. And...I'm just...so excited. Really! I've wanted to write in a cafe for ages! I don't think I've done it since high school! Goodness knows I've got enough fic and stories to catch up on.

Night night, loves! Sweet dreams! I am so pleased to be back here again with a laptop! I am thinking of names. Mmm yaaaay. :D

I'm sure you'll see the subtext -- it's practically text. Have fun!

Certainly saw the subtext. :) I would certainly read Alice in Wonderland stories, especially if they were written once the others were out of sight and the White Queen had dropped her act.

COF shirt
I'm so pleased you were happy with the shirt! Here's a bit of background story on the LONG SLEEVED shirt.

Gerri asks Jake, "How can I get a long sleeved shirt. I LOVE them and I want one".

Jake says, "You'd have to have 10 people committed to purchasing them before I would even consider ordering them cause they'd cost like $40 a piece otherwise and I'd have to order 20 and hope we EVENTUALLY sell the other 10".

Gerri has sad pouty face but says (several times) "OK Jake, I'll get the 10 orders. PLEASE PLEASE order the shirts."

Jakes says, "No way. Not till you actually HAVE the 10 people".

Gerri works for months getting people. She still doesn't have 10 (New guy offers to buy one (Bob Evans, cool guy!), I am buysing one, Barry Kasindorf is up for buying one, so are a couple more people, but I can never remember who. Then Steve Nespolo offers to buy a shirt too. I tell Jake I've got at least 6 and repeat the pouty look.

Jake says, "Keep going and let me know when you have 10 REAL orders".

Pam says, "Jake is a blow hard. Just keep at him and he'll order them. Maddie & I might want another one ...".

I go to the coffeehouse in Jan. and Jake says, "The new long sleeved shirts are in".

I say, "WHAT?! I thought you weren't going to order ...

Jake says, "Huh?" and he smirks that smirk of his that means, "You wore me down, but don't expect me to admit it".

Bob Evans, the cool new guy says, "Gerri, I'm buying you a shirt for helping train me!". (Of course I say he doesn't need to do that, yadda yadda yadda. But he's alreday done it. See why I like him?! And his wife : ).

So I say, "I need to buy one for Kiwi!!! AND EVERYONE NEEDS TO SIGN IT!!" But everyone wasn't there that day... and I was trying to get it to you by Feb 22nd. HA HA HA. Guess I blew it on that. Mailed on 3/15 was as close as I got.

Thank goodness you understand that birthdays, or gifts are just .... organic occurances.

So happy it got to you and made you happy.

Alex calling now. He wants me to head to the high school with: 1. Gatorade 2. Shorts 3. Tennis bag. He has been approved to practice a bit on his sprained ankle. So I'm off. XO Mom

First +/- post that's been all +s in a while. Win!

Love the making things out of clay part. Did she bake them to harden them? Mine tend to burn and then it's seriously less fun.

Those are awe-inspiring. The cupcake looks edible.
That is so beyond my abilities. I make animal sculptures with smooth coats only. Do you know what kind of clay it is or how she gets the texture?
Kiwi Crocuscranky__crocus on March 28th, 2010 03:44 am (UTC)
I'm not sure what kind of clay...I think she rambled on about it, but I wasn't quite paying attention during the webcast. :P I was cooking pasta.

For the texture on the cupcakes she used a toothbrush and toothpicks for spreading. She had a bunch of different tools.
