Apparently I do not have a seminar today. Why is my life a hot dog mess? Why didn't I check my calendar before I came in?

I just spent a half an hour first slightly freaking out because no one was there yet, then fifteen minutes walking from building to building without a cane (walked in) trying to find out where I was supposed to be.

And where I was supposed to be was in bed sleeping.

Well THAT was so worth the tears of frustration. :P

Alright, well, I guess I can hang around for a half hour or I can head to the library near my house to return the books, then home to do my washing up, get my grocery list and head to Tescos.

The good about all this (which is super!): 1) I got to ride my new bike, which has been named Great Squeaky of the Forest. 2) I learned how to use a bike lock and they are super nifty. 3) I sorted out one of the posts I'm going to make on the discussion board and I only *need* to make two, but I'll shoot for more. 4) I don't have to stress how much of a numpty I'll be in seminar given my utter lack of history knowledge!

Giggles. Aaaaand I'm happy again. So off I go to the library, one of my all-time fave places! I even have some money to give in for my poor little late books. :)

" Squeaky thF" is a great name. Perhaps someone has WD40?

Maybe they need part time help in the library? That would be perfect for you! So close and you'd really enjoy it.

No part time help needed in the library--it's incredibly small and I think they've got the librarian thing covered. :D But I do enjoy going when I can. Maybe I'll volunteer time there some time or something.

I find that a trip to Tescos can often help turn a bad day around. Especially now that they're geared up for Christmas and everything is two for the price of one, or buy two get one free. Mini cheddars. That's all I'm saying.

Where are you, by the way?
Kiwi Crocuscranky__crocus on November 7th, 2009 05:59 pm (UTC)
I'm in Reading. :)

Made it to Tescos today, actually. Spent £43 and I'm pleased. It'll last me two weeks, probably more with some occasional top-up for fresh things.

I'm still super excited to decorate soon. I want to decorate early so we can enjoy it before we go home for Winter Break after the 11th.

Where do you suggest getting decoration stuff? Tescos too, or is there somewhere else I should go? My friends haven't known either. I want to find out! I want to make our little house comfy cosy and family-like for the holidays. :)

Ah, Reading. I know where that is! Heh.

For really cheap Christmas decorations, you might do well at Matalan. They have some nice stuff but it's not overpriced. And they do all sorts of home furnishings. I bought most of my Christmas decorations from there last year (or it might have been the year before).

Good luck.

Approximately where are you? :P Just to get a picture of where you are in the country! Haha.

Alrighty, I'll keep that in mind! Thank you very much for the suggestion! I can't wait.

I'm in SW London - actually in Surrey but I'm clinging to my closeness to Croydon for credibility.
