Rainbow || Rainbow northern lights.

(no subject)

1) My illness is leaving me more each day. I cough less and I can breathe through my nose, even if I sniffle and cough occasionally. I still have the weird low voice, which is actually pretty fun.

2) My brother has a prickish friend who has been here most of Sunday and is still here today. I have managed to get past his prickishness and have a reasonable time with the lot of them. Especially when my entire family and Prickish Friend were all drinking wine and playing Scattergories. Plus, when we had D and the final category was "Tools" (one would then have to put down a d-word that could be classified as a tool), he put "Draco Malfoy", which meant I had no choice but to appreciate him a little bit more. (And, my Snape fans, you will be glad to know that when we had "s" and "heroes" was a category, I put down Severus Snape. Mother put down "Helga Hufflepuff" for "h" and "famous females" or something of the sort. We are a Potterhead family.)

3) I woke up with a cold-sore, which was annoying. I felt myself wake up, felt something on my lip, touched it and thought "WHYYY? What have I done to deserve this?! I'm not stressed, I haven't been out in the sun, I haven't had too much Citrus lately..." but I realised it's because my immune system is down a bit. Fantabs. So I rubbed Viroxyn all over my lips, wincing all the way, and now my lips will be numb for a while but it will hopefully heal up quick. I don't know if any of you get cold-sores, but I get them really bad sometimes (all the way up to my nose), and this stuff works.

4) I wanted to tell you all about goodreads, for if you haven't heard of it. You get an account and it's a great way to keep track of what you're reading - and for your friends to do it, too. It's a bit of a time sink at first as you may (like me) be sucked into going through lots of their "lists" and finding a good number of the books you've read in your life. After that, though, you can update with whatever book you've just finished, sort it into a shelf (research, fantasy, pleasure, holiday, I don't know), rate it and give a review - which you can let your friends see, if you'd like. I don't know how the site is about books in other languages (as, alas, I wouldn't be able to read any of them), but I knew a great many of us here are readers and it's a wonderful way to keep track of what you're reading and check out what your friends are reading. I think you can also suggest a book to a friend on it, when you add it to your books/write up a review.

That's all for now! I'm going to go eat some soups. Soooouuuuuups. SOOOOOUUUUUPS! (I don't think I'm entirely in my mind, still. Please forgive.)
