  • Another collectible sold today. Yaaaay.
  • I have to start looking into the shipping of some of the bigger Department 56 Halloween collectibles so I can sell them. Boooo.
  • Did the horses today and it was lovely. Even if they both went into their separate stalls to relieve themselves immediately after I'd finished mucking. Typical horses. I wrote Wilhelmina-Millicent genfic about unicorn care in my head to make the tasks even more fun.
  • Catching up on LJ for the moment since I've been woefully behind.
  • In my reading of Harry Potter, a question popped into my mind...
Why was James Potter Head Boy?

That's all from me for the moment.

I have no idea why they chose James, when it CLEARLY should've been Remus, but apparently he changed (for better) after the Snape "incident". Then, Head boy and Lily's heart and everything.

Remus definitely seemed the best choice, certainly for Gryffindor--not to mention the other Houses of those years. I have to wonder how usual it is to have both Head Boy and Head Girl be from the same house...that seems a bit biased, really, if at least all the Heads of Houses and if not more faculty as a whole are in on the conversation.

I have to wonder if someone with a background of such extreme bullying--and no real apparent apology--is the sort of 'Head Boy' material one really looks for. Maybe if he suddenly had an epiphany by his own conscience (rather than by any force of Lily's) and suddenly went out of his way to a) apologise to Severus, b) do everything he could to make it up to Severus, and c) do everything within his power to end any sort of bullying... Just maybe.

Eh. I know that if I had been in their year, I'd have been peeved to no end and going to all the Heads of Houses to demand an explanation for their decision, so I could at least seek to understand it more. And I'd damn hope they had an explanation I could appreciate (perhaps thinking Remus was too shy for the job, but would be a guiding hand in James' decisions and behaviour).
