Y'all should claim a prompt or two or more over here, at the 2012 Day of Femslash Challenge. If you claim something by tomorrow, you still have until the 21st to get it up and posted (and there's no min. length, so you don't have to push yourself past a drabble if you don't want to!).

Be sure to check out the dreamwidth page, too (linked on the website); there's a prompt about Amelia's monocle seeing through clothes... You don't want to miss that opportunity now, do you? I would love to see three fics of Amelia being a peeping tom, no-one else the wiser. :B

Even Xena and Gabrielle say you should write in the name of femslash!

(My errands are mostly done; have to head out with my brother to get the Prius cleaned for the trip. Cleaning and packing still needs to happen... I've got it mostly all packed in my head, at least, so my written and re-written mental lists should help there.)

I made a claim. This will probably be bad. I'm blaming you for this. Kay?

You have NO IDEA how happy this makes me! See, all my other great HP-fandom flisties seem able to draw people in to these things...and I never have.

So, for the first time, I have lassoed someone into a Harry Potter event. :D Femslash, no less. I'm rather chuffed with myself, to be honest.

(And, of course, delighted that you've joined in the fun. I take all the blame gladly. :B)

( :) )

I enjoy HP, but I've never been hardcore into it. The people who are kind of scare me at times because they can be so intense. I hope this doesn't suck.

I completely get that, truly I do. I'm hardcore into HP and have been since all of my Internet life, but I only frequent pockets of fandom. The pocket I call home is made up of those who enjoy the older female characters (the "Old Lady Smut Brigade" or "OLSB" as we are also called). Many within the pocket also enjoy Severus Snape (he's worth enjoying, of course), which dips into a larger pool where there seems to be a bit more crazy (Snape-with-students and drama and such), so I occasionally end up skirting or dipping into those pools when I've been led to a fest here or there.

For the most part, though, I am lucky to be in one of the sanest and most stable sections of fans I have ever come across in any fandoms. I haven't noticed any big drama, or fighting, or anything of the sort--the rowdiest we seem to get is when we post silly things after some holiday drinks. :B Perhaps it's because those who are drawn to older female characters (by and large ignored, maligned, or caricatured by the main population of fandom) also tend to be more mature and less enthralled with drama IRL/online.

I'm sure your story won't suck! :D Just have fun with it. And try not to stay up all night writing it the way I did haha. =/

That sounds like an amazing group.

I'm not a fan of drama, but I am a fan of the very odd.

I've had that happen before ::cough::ficmas::cough::
