Typing with my eyes closed is probably a bad idea. So tired.

3.5k of outlining done today. Being evil and counting it toward my wordcount, because hey, they were all words I wrote and they all go toward my novel since there wouldn't be one without it and I've never minded cheating the NaNoWriMo system before (splitting wordcount between two novels, writing non-fiction, stopping at 49k when the site thought it was 50k).

This will probably be the most ridiculous thing I've written yet. Then, it's based on The Little Mermaid, so it was pretty much doomed to it.

As I explained to my parents, I am essentially writing The Little Mermaid while replacing Disney Magic and Heteronormativity with (Silly) Science and Lesbians. Because even if the science doesn't add up, everything's better with lesbians. And a crazy old eccentric mermaid who likes seducing the human ladies and once fell for a woman who smoked a pipe. (Which leads me to strange thoughts about Wilhelmina/Mermaid [the beautiful ones, not the strange ones in the HP film], and I will carefully ignore those thoughts.)

So this is the start to my NaNoWriMo.

I'm Cranky Crocus, by the way, if you'd like to friend me on the site.

I'm going to go read and pass out now. Mum and I have the church class again tomorrow evening and neither of us has read the rest of the book, given that the first 30 pages felt like pulling teeth and then poking ourselves with the roots. I can't say I feel too-too guilty, but I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

I think I should make a promise to myself that my next novel WIP will be one of my serious ideas I think on and have to research, and not one of the crack-fiction ideas I get at random.

...which leads me to the thought, how do mermaids ...?
That seems to always be the first question.

I am taking the cheap (non-inventive) path and leaving them with human reproductive tracts/anatomy and a stretch-flap.

Scientifically speaking, I don't know. :Þ I haven't reached the etceteras yet.

I still say this sounds fun. Your one mermaid sounds a little sireny to me.

Hahahahaha! Have I mentioned that I love you?

I just added you as a NaNo buddy. :D

(I was considering icons for this comment, and then realized naked-lady-underwater is perfectly appropriate...)

Go, you! *\o/* We will be able to read this when it's done, right? :-)

Uhm...you may have to wrestle it from my firm grip from where I will be hiding under a pillow under a bed under a house.

(So hopefully not? When I say it's ridiculous, I mean ridiculous!)

But thank you for the cheerleading! :D
