Jo just left; we sniffled a lot. I could feel myself being pulled down into that more angsty, less productive place.

But then I got an email from my grandmother. The beginning is sad (about my uncle's dog dying; we all loved that dog, but Grammie loved him inordinate amounts, by her wording).

Then I read this:

Now, as to animals, I have not forgotten a long ago made promise to get you a kitten when you have your own place. LO, the time nears!!!! Be thinking about it.

!!! Yes. So there's that to think about. My own little familiar, with all a cat's temperamental nature...

Then she went and basically put all the LJ posts I've been trying to make into better words:

What a time in your life this must be. Relief, elation, eagerness, fear, happiness, anxiety and I can't guess how many other emotions must be playing leap frog in your head right now. I wish you all the good and none of the angst. Certainly that's not the way it will happen, life just is, but nevertheless,................... most of all I wish you love.

Now I'm feeling more ready to go finish off the last of my packing. I can do this! Go Team Kiwi (& Future Kitten)! Packing, you are going down.

(Sorry for all the updates! This is my attempt at keeping sane.)

Your grandmother sounds like a brilliant person! And she writes emails!
Looking forward to kitten stories already... (-:

My grandmother is absolutely a brilliant person! :D Her emails are great fun.

Oh, kitten stories; those will surely be entertaining and exhausting. ("Dear Queenie, I needn't have bothered packing all that stuff when I left England; the kitten has ripped them all to shreds. Off to buy new shirts... Love, Kiwi")

I shall treasure each story of ripped clothes and pooed in shoes :D

You know, if it can manage to get itself into one of my Docs successfully I think it deserves to leave a token of its conquer. Other shoes I'm not too bothered. :Þ

I love your grandmother . . . she seems to know exactly what to say and how to say it - a rare gift (not to mention that she dispenses therapeutic kittens)!

::hugs and cheers for Team Kiwi::

I love my grandmother too. I really ended up with some excellent grandparents all around - it's not shocking at all that I find my parents so amazing, then. (: Grammie has the biggest heart in the world. I appreciate both the ability to know just what/how to say things and the therapeutic kittens!

*Hugs Team Lark right back.* I'm all packed up now. More bags than I expected - as always - but it's done. Just waiting for my uncle to arrive for the really exciting bit: will it all fit in the car? *Groans.*
