[. Winter Song .]

This is my winter song to you.
The storm is coming soon;
It rolls in from the sea.

My voice, a beacon in the night;
My words will be your light
To carry you to me.

Is love alive?
Is love alive?
Is love…

They say that things just cannot grow
Beneath the winter snow,
Or so I have been told.

They say we’re buried far,
Just like a distant star
I simply cannot hold.

Is love alive?
Is love alive?
Is love alive?

This is my winter song.
December never felt so wrong,
‘Cause you’re not where you belong:
Inside my arms.

I still believe in summer days;
The seasons always change,
And life will find a way.

I’ll be your harvester of life
And send it out tonight
So we can start again.

Is love alive?
Is love alive?
Is love alive?

This is my winter song.
December never felt so wrong,
‘Cause you’re not where you belong:
Inside my arms.

This is my winter song to you.
The storm is coming soon;
It rolls in from the sea.

My love, a beacon in the night;
My words will be your light
To carry you to me.

Is love alive?
Is love alive?
Is love alive?...

It's a song by Dar Williams--if you'd like, definitely give her a listen! This song, called 'The Christians and the Pagans' is one of my favourites, especially for the holiday season. She has some wonderful songs.

Thank you for the friending! Sorry for not sending along a message (warning :B) first!

Not commenting so much as wanting to point you to this...

I know you're interested in science, especially biology, although I'm not sure if you're interested so much in this, but anyway...

I was on the MIT OpenCourseWare pages today and noticed this:

One of the things I miss most about no longer being near any big cultural centers is all the public talks I used to go along to. There are so many wonderful minds around who want more than anything to share their love of knowledge. [sigh]

Thank you for pointing to that! I wish I could have attended, it sounds fascinating! Unfortunately it's a little difficult to get into Boston. I should start looking to see if universities in Providence - like Brown - have any public lectures I'd like to attend. Especially since I'll be moving to Providence in the near-ish future.

I'm sorry you're no longer in an area with public talks! I didn't take advantage of them when I was at university. I only went to a few in my final year and that was it. I comforted myself by knowing that many of the talks were given by lecturers I was seeing and learning from on a weekly basis, though. (:

Thanks again!
